Camp DeForest just opened last week and stepping o Camp DeForest just opened last week and stepping onto the property felt like flipping open a vintage field journal. There’s a canoe. A fire pit. A little compass swinging from a pegboard.
If my younger self could have built a retreat center, this might’ve been it.
Now I’m asking myself: Could this be the setting for a “Journey to Becoming” weekend retreat?

After a stretch of Nor’easter gloom, this kind of golden light feels like a personal gift. The Beehive is open, the grass is green, and all is calm (even the guests). Grateful for quiet days, warm light, and a little space to breathe.
